BTS’ Suga got into trouble on August 6 after he was caught riding an electric scooter while intoxicated. The K-pop idol had previously apologized for his “inappropriate behavior.” On August 23, the BTS member appeared for police questioning at Yongsan Police Station regarding an ongoing drunk driving case. The rapper apologized again to his fans, commonly known as ARMY.
Suga bowed his head twice to apologize and promised to cooperate sincerely with the police investigation. Speaking to reporters, he said, “First of all, I would like to apologize. I am deeply sorry for causing so much trouble to my fans and so many other people, and I will cooperate sincerely with the investigation. Once again, I apologize.”

On the night of the incident, Suga was found lying on the ground after falling off his electric scooter on a street in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Police patrolling the scene found him and approached to help. The officers smelled alcohol on him and took him to the police station. He has since been under investigation for drunk driving.
After the incident was reported, Suga apologized and admitted to violating traffic rules. “I would like to apologize to those who were hurt by my carelessness and unjust actions, and will endeavor to ensure that such an incident does not happen again in the future,” he wrote.

Some angry fans are demanding Suga’s withdrawal from the K-pop group. A few days ago, BTS’s management company HYBE stated that “the talk that Suga is leaving BTS is nonsense.” The company also apologized for Suga’s actions.
Suga will enlist in the military as a social service officer in September 2023 and is scheduled to complete his mandatory service in 2025.
