At least 16 people were killed when a passenger bus crashed into a parked truck on a highway in the Sudanese city of Omdurman early Tuesday morning, police said.
A police statement said the bus veered off the road and hit a parked truck in Omdurman, the twin city of the capital Khartoum. At least 19 people were injured in the accident, police said.
Police said the bus was heading from Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, to Khartoum. Ambulances rushed to the scene and transferred the injured to Omdurman Hospital, while the dead were taken to the morgue.
