The Golden State Warriors defeated San Francisco’s Denver Nuggets team 114-105, snapping their seven-game winning streak in a disappointing way. Denver dominated the game behind Aaron Gordon’s season high 38 points despite key players Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Christian Brown going missing.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr did not refrain from post-game ratings.
“We didn’t do well at the gate.
The loss was marked second in 14 Golden State games, which surged into the rankings since signing Jimmy Butler. However, Kerr admitted that the team was struggling with leaving work and lacking energy. This is a problem that has emerged many times this season.
Curry fatigue and Butler’s leadership
Superstar Stephen Curry, who has been carrying the team for the past few weeks, has had a tough night with seven turnovers, 20 points and seven assists. Kerr pointed out that Curry is visibly tired, especially after leading the Warriors to a 14-2 record, especially since Butler’s arrival.
“Stef is amazing, but he’s tired,” Kerr admitted. “We have to find a way to regain his energy.”
The Warriors currently hold the sixth seed in the Western Conference, so they hope their playoffs will stay alive. Butler has averaged 16.4 points, 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds since joining the team, making him ready to take on more responsibility.
“It’s about me and everyone else stepping up,” Butler said. “We need to give Steph a break and make sure we do it better.”
Golden State will focus on maintaining its place in the rankings with 14 games remaining in the season. Whether you can maintain your pace without spending your curry remains the biggest issue heading towards the final stretch.
