A verdict was handed down in Donald Trump’s hush money trial on Thursday.
Trump was convicted of all 34 felony charges for falsifying business records, making him the first U.S. president to be convicted of a crime.
The charges stem from allegations that Trump paid $130,000 in hush money to keep his alleged affair with porn actress Stormy Daniels secret before the 2016 presidential election, and then knowingly misrepresented the payment.
“This is a disgrace. This was a rigged trial with a conflict of interest and a corrupt judge,” Trump told reporters outside the courtroom after the verdict.
Despite the conviction, Trump has said he intends to run for president, noting that the “real verdict” will be “handed down by the people” in November.
He continued: “They know what happened here, everybody knows what happened here, and we’re going to fight to the end.”
Trump’s sentencing is scheduled for July 11.
Celebrities including Kathy Griffin, Patton Oswalt, Ellen Barkin and Jon Cryer reacted to the verdict on social media.
