Stanly County Wins Financial Award

The Stanly County Treasurer’s Office was recently awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Merit for excellence in financial reporting related to its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.
The awards are the highest recognition in the field of government accounting and financial reporting and recognise the significant achievements of governments and their management.
According to County Manager Andy Lucas, “The Certificate of Excellence validates Stanly County’s commitment to the highest standards of financial reporting, integrity and transparency. Our finance staff has been working hard to help Stanly County develop an annual financial reporting tool to provide a variety of users and residents with a clear understanding of the county’s financial situation.”
GFOA is a not-for-profit professional association serving approximately 20,000 government financial institutions in the United States and Canada.
