kuala lumpur: The government is currently strengthening domestic cybersecurity to prevent cyber-attacks such as the hacking of the Social Security Organization (Socso) website last Saturday (December 2).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said in this regard, the National Security Council (MKN) and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will strengthen cooperation with companies with the ability to curb cyber-attacks.
“We are currently strengthening our cybersecurity and there is also the decision of MKN and MCMC to establish cooperation with companies that have the ability to curb cyber-attacks,” he said at the MADANI conference held at the Bukit premises. He spoke to reporters after visiting the government’s first anniversary program. Today is Jalil National Stadium.
Yesterday, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fazil was reported to have said that Cyber Security Malaysia (CSM), the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and the Personal Data Protection Authority will conduct an investigation into the alleged hacking of the SOCSO database site.
Commenting on the appointment of five new members of the Special Committee on Corruption (JKMR), Anwar said this is a mandate to continue the Madani administration’s efforts to prioritize good governance by fighting corruption in the country.
