Earlier this week, a mom stunned TikTok users when she posted a TikTok exposing the realities of single motherhood. In the video, which has since been removed from the app, the user (@morethanelizabeth) can be seen crying while baking a cake, with the text on the screen reading, “Being a single mom means making your own cake for your birthday and singing to your baby to make her feel happy.”
The video garnered 4.5 million likes before being removed from TikTok, and caught the attention of Elizabeth’s ex-husband, Andrew (@inventingelizabeth), who made a series of allegations on TikTok on May 24, alleging that he had sole custody of the children and that Elizabeth had not paid $21,175 in child support.
Husband’s side
In the video, he shows what appears to be child support documents and a photo of Elizabeth’s face. He also claims that Elizabeth stole “almost a million dollars,” accuses her of faking cancer, and says that she “has barely had a baby” and is always out. The video has been viewed 2.8 million times as of writing.

Elizabeth then hit back in a nine-minute video, alleging that Andrew was “extremely abusive” throughout their marriage, that she experienced “psychosis due to trauma,” and that he was a Scientologist and created an account dedicated to “destruction.” [her] She also shared a website where Andrew detailed the allegations against her, and he linked to the website in his subsequent videos.
Follow My Response
“The bottom line is, for three years I’ve tried not to expose him on the internet, not to talk about who he is, because as a mother, it’s the right thing to do,” she said. “My family, my friends, everyone involved with me has said, ‘Elizabeth, you have to go public with what’s going on, because he can’t keep doing this to you,’ and I’ve always said, I don’t care what he does to me, all I care about is my children.”
In a subsequent video, she also shared a screenshot of a domestic violence restraining order that she claims was taken out by one of Andrew’s ex-partners.

Who is telling the truth?
Ultimately, viewers were left wondering who to believe: Several commented that Andrew “crushed” and “destroyed” Elizabeth with his initial reaction video, while others questioned why she shared the birthday cake video in the first place. But others suggested that his TikTok account, named after his ex-wife, might itself be a red flag.
“An obsessive, abusive ex-husband dedicating an entire page to slandering the mother of his child?” one commenter said. “This guy is not normal.”
On X, a repost of the first video and Andrew’s response garnered 51.6 million views. But it was then used to reference a shortened version of Elizabeth’s second video, which garnered 15.4 million views. The accompanying text read: “Another man orchestrating a witch hunt against women who were trained and abused by rich men.” [And] Now he is trying to destroy and slander her because she left him.”
The Daily Dot reached out to Andrew via TikTok comment and to Elizabeth via email.

In an email to The Daily Dot, Elizabeth claims she “just wants this to stop.”
“He’s been doing this to me for a long time and all I care about is my kids,” she wrote. “I don’t want him to hate me because that’s not what my page is about, but I don’t deserve the kind of stuff he’s been posting. I’m just a mom posting on TikTok for fun and what he did is unacceptable.”
