When singer Sinead O’Connor died suddenly a year ago, many concluded that the death of her son had prompted her to take her own life.
It was later reported only that she had “died of natural causes” at the age of 56.

Her death was recorded in Lambeth, London on 24 July by her former husband, John Reynolds.
O’Connor was found dead on July 26, 2023. She is survived by her three children, but her son Shane preceded her in death by suicide in 2022 at the age of 17.
O’Connor was born in Dublin on December 8, 1966. His debut album, The Lion and the Cobra (1987), was a huge hit, especially on college radio in Europe and the US, and his follow-up, I Do Not Want What I Have Got, was one of the best-selling albums of the 1990s, buoyed by the phenomenal success of Nothing Compares to You.
