CHARLOTTE — Travelers are still facing problems after bad weather disrupted flights at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
The problem began Wednesday night, when the Federal Aviation Administration ground delaylater lifted.
At one point, about 750 flights were delayed and more than 70 were cancelled.
As of Thursday morning, 43 flights were delayed and 43 canceled, according to reports. flight aware.
The airport posted on X that the effects of the storm will continue until Thursday. Airport officials said roads leading in and out of the airport will be congested.

‘Unacceptable’
On Wednesday night, Channel 9’s Glenn Counts observed large crowds at the terminals and gates and spoke with passengers.
Everywhere you look, there’s line after line.
“Well, it’s her birthday week, so I’m going to visit her family near Albany, New York,” passenger Sean McKage said.
She and Jody Richardson were supposed to be in the air when the Earl spoke to them.
“It was a little scary because I kept getting alerts about flight delays every few minutes,” she said. “If it was one minute, you could tell me, but now it’s three hours.”
Alicia Jointer and her husband returned from Punta Canta and were headed to Baltimore when their flight was cancelled.
“That’s unacceptable,” Jointer said. “I’m five months pregnant. I’m not sleeping in an airport seat.”
Passengers Ross Nistri and his son were on their way home.
“So we’re heading back to Sydney, but this flight is scheduled to arrive after the Dallas flight leaves, so we almost missed the flight from Dallas,” he said.
On Thursday morning, Channel 9’s Eli Brand spoke with disgruntled passengers who were stuck at the airport overnight.
“It was crazy. There was no chaos at all, but everyone was so close to being lost,” passenger Eric Froisland said.
