Months after Sabrina Carpenter released the music video for her song “Taste,” Shawn Mendes is speaking out about his love triangle with his ex Camila Cabello.
Many have speculated that “Taste” was inspired by Mendes, whom Carpenter was reported to be dating last year. Shortly after the sighting, Sean was spotted kissing at Coachella, fueling rumors of a reconciliation with Cabello.
During an appearance on John Mayer’s SiriusXM show, he said,how is life” Mendes revealed. 2 days before I went out with my ex-boyfriend. [I] Expression I am going to stay with my ex because I have unresolved feelings. Maybe it was two weeks instead of two days. ”

Mendes initially denied they were dating Carpenter after they were spotted together several times, but the relationship apparently inspired her songs “Coincidence” and “Sharpest Tool.” .

In “Coincidence,” Sabrina also references Palm Springs, where Coachella was held and where Sean and Camila were spotted kissing.
On “Sharpest Too,” Sabrina sings about her ex rekindling a past relationship, saying, “I never talk about how I found God at my ex’s house.”
Elsewhere in the song, Sabrina sings: Now her name comes up once, then it comes up twice/And even though she’s not here, she comes back in your life/Now she’s on the same damn night, in the same damn town I’m in ”
A few months ago, Sean, Camila, and Sean all attended the MTV VMAs without any awkward confrontations.
Earlier this year, Camila opened up about why she got back together with her ex. In an interview with Alex Cooper:please call her daddy” she said.
