Sharon Acker, the glamorous blonde actress best known for her dramatic transformation in the movie Point Blank and playing Della Street in the short-lived ’70s Perry Mason reboot. He died on March 16th at the age of 87.
THR report The Canadian performer, who retired from acting 30 years ago, died at a nursing home in Toronto.
Born April 2, 1935 in Toronto, Acker made her television debut in the production of Anne of Green Gables (1956), gaining extensive experience on stage.
Her first film was 1957’s Lucky Jim, a British production featuring comedy legend Terry Thomas.
After working opposite the pre-James Bond Sean Connery in the CBC production of “Macbeth” (1961), she went on to model and act, starring in the noir classic “Point Blank” (1967) directed by John Boorman. I got my break in the form of a meaty role. ), where she co-starred with Lee Marvin.

Her other notable achievements include O’Donna in an episode of “Star Trek” in 1969, four episodes of “The Bold Ones: The Senator” (1970-1971), and 15 episodes of “The New Perry Mason.” including the return of the episode’s iconic character, Della Street. She appeared as a series regular in 18 episodes of “She” (1973-1974) and “The Executive Suite” (1976-1977).
Acker was a well-known part in “Texas” (1982) and appeared in other soaps such as “Days of Our Lives” (1987-1988) and “The Young and the Restless” (1992), the latter of which It was her last television job.
Horror fans will remember her role in one of her last films, the slasher film Happy Birthday to Me (1981).
Acker was widowed by her second husband, Peter Elkington, who died in 2001.
She has two children, two stepchildren, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
