NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal decided to go to popular Houston restaurant Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen and prepay for all meals in the Schmooze Room, the restaurant’s largest private dining area.
Restaurant posted about their kind gesture Facebook account And he detailed the experience of never knowing who would set foot in Kenny & Ziggy’s.
“Today our friend Shaq came to visit us. What a great guy,” said Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen on Christmas Eve.
The Basketball Hall of Famer returned to Texas earlier this year. He spent part of his childhood in Texas and played basketball at San Antonio’s Cole High School in the late ’80s.
The new home purchased by the four-time NBA champion is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Besides basketball, O’Neal is also known for his community work. In early December, O’Neill joined forces with former Miami Heat teammate Alonzo his morning to help Overtown his youth renovate his center. The $20 million project included a renovated basketball court and charter school.
Shaq’s Texas entrepreneurial endeavors extend beyond real estate. He opened his casual chicken restaurant at the Moody Center last spring called “Big Chicken.” In October 2022, he performed his DJ set under the pseudonym DJ Diesel at his 2022 Formula 1 US Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas in Austin.

O’Neill played 19 seasons in the NBA and was inducted into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame. He is a 15-time All-Star and a 3-time Finals MVP.
