For Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short, it was a golden evening celebrating the new season of “Only Murders in the Building” and the show’s 21 Emmy nominations.
“Extra’s” Teri Seymour attended the film’s Los Angeles premiere with the trio on Thursday.
Selena received her first acting nomination in season 3, and shared a funny story about when she first heard the news.
“I actually just got a text from one of my friends congratulating me, and I texted her back and said, ‘What?’ And she just laughed and didn’t understand for like an hour. Then I got a call from the team, and when I heard from them, I was really, really excited,” Gomez recalled.

She added: “They’re always sending me stuff. They’re such kind people.”
It’s been a big year for Selena, from an Emmy nomination to winning Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in “Emilia Pérez” to rumored engagement to boyfriend Benny Blanco.
“You said this is the best year of your life so far,” Terry pointed out.
Selena responded: “Yeah. I’m really, really happy to be recognized. I’m excited.”
Steve, who just turned 79 last week, is celebrating his own birthday. Terry wishes him a belated happy birthday, and Short asks, “Steve, how old are you now?”
Steve chuckled playfully and gave an unintelligible answer.
When Terry asked him what his co-stars had given him, he replied: “At this age, I have a rule: ‘I don’t want anything, just give me something.’ It’s nice when they call me.”
Martin interjected, “What about a bottle of Cristal?” Steve replied, “Yes, I did, but I opened it so quickly I forgot I’d had it.”
“I like the way you reminded him,” Terry said.
“It’s sad, but it’s true,” Martin teased.

When Terry asked Steve if he would consider co-hosting with Martin, Steve made it clear he would never host the Oscars again.
“I shouldn’t have said that. No, I really shouldn’t have said that. Of course I’d consider it… It’s not a hard and fast rule. I was just saying they have a lot of great people. Not you.” [to Short] “But they have a lot of great people who can do it, so there’s no need for us to be there and my turn is over.”
Terry went on to ask if the three of them would ever consider hosting a show together.
Short joked about Martin’s comments, saying, “Why are you speaking for me?”
He continued, “Let’s go back through this interview. You don’t remember me giving you a bottle of Cristal. You’re talking like I don’t want to be at the Oscars. Like I’ve been there so many times. But I’ve never been there. Selena’s never been there. Is there anything else you want to say?”
“I love ‘Extra,'” Steve said hastily. “We’re in trouble again!”
“OMITB” season 4 will premiere on Hulu on August 27th.
