The elevators in the tower lobby at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood have been restored to include details from the attraction’s early days as the 30th anniversary approaches.
Tower of Terror Restoration Details
Details depicting the damage caused by the lightning strike that struck the Hollywood Tower Hotel on October 31, 1939 have been restored from the original version of the procession and can once again be seen in the service elevator in the hotel’s lobby.
The elevator doors are covered in cracks and scorch marks, and the damage from the paranormal storm that struck this place so long ago is still visible and felt.
The story of this attraction is that on Halloween night in 1939, five people entered an elevator, were struck by lightning, and were never seen again. But as the hotel’s newest guest, it’s you who encounters these paranormal happenings as you step back into the service elevator and cross over into “The Twilight Zone.”
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will celebrate its 30th anniversary on July 22, 2024.
The new Bellhop Stitch plush toy went on sale earlier this week at the attraction’s gift shop, Tower Hotel Gifts.
