Josie feels guilty about her mother’s death.
“What he said many times is that he was trying to find a life raft and there was a rope, but there was a big spider on the rope, and he was too scared to throw it on. I keep reassuring him, “Buddy, that rope never got long enough.” It clearly sticks out into his head as he feels he was able to save her. I think she just got caught up in a brush – or a strange undercurrent from the dam. It was just an extraordinary event. ”
Dorsey also thinks about what would happen if he were on the lake that day.
He states: But on the other hand, you might think that something bad might have happened to both of us. I don’t know. “
It took several days for Rivera’s body to be found remotely on Lake Pill. Ryan called it “the worst five days of my life,” adding, “I had fear. It was terrible.”
The day Naya and Josie went to the lake, Ryan was at Big Bear Lake for a friend’s birthday.
While he was inside Ralph, he received a call from Naya’s mother, Yolanda’s husband that the “Glee” star had disappeared.
Dorsey said, “I said immediately, ‘What do you mean? She knows how to swim,” he said, ‘They jumped in, and Josie came back, and they found Naya. I’m trying to do it.” I collapsed on a drink palette. I didn’t know what to think, but I was afraid of the worst. ”
Ryan immediately headed to Lake Pill and said, “I ran 100 of the dangers on all sides, chain smoking cigarettes. I just wanted to go to Josie.”
He emphasized. I don’t know what I did, but I’m sure it wasn’t good. ”
Following the tragedy, Ryan and Hossie moved to West Virginia.
Georgie is in an age where he is beginning to ask questions Ryan struggles to answer.
Dorsey said: You give him a hug and say, “I know, life is not fair. Bad things happen, and there’s no reason. You have to do your best to be a good person.”
“It’s hard to try and explain things that you really don’t understand, no matter what your age,” Ryan continued. Why he doesn’t have a mother. ”
Ryan is a single dad, but Georgie wants him to go on a date. He explained why it was complicated and said, “It’s sad, but it’s sweet to have told me over the years that he wants a brother and a stepmother. Someone has my life and his life. Expecting to sign up for it, it’s not easy. I think he’s easy, but there are plenty to ask all the variables, someone.”
Dorsey is set to throw a “blown” birthday party in September by Josey, who is 10 years old.
Ryan said, “I’m trying to be the best parent I can and I’m trying to raise a good guy. He gives me a reason to continue my life.”
Ryan and Naya were finalised their divorce in 2018, just two years before her death. They were on and off for years.
Even after the divorce, Ryan pointed out that they had ‘played and exchanged the house.’
He explained in detail. We went to Maui to see the location and get a fresh start. And we fell again… had we known what I know now, I would have tried to do things differently to make it work. ”
Despite their split, Ryan and Naya “always put Josie first.” Ryan said, “We never got any real confusion about raising him together. We were very good co-parents.”
