(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester business owner is facing multiple felony charges for tax violations.
According to Rochester Police, the investigation determined that Donyal Gayles Johnson, owner of 4S Entertainment, 3160 Wellner Dr. NW, Suite 200, Rochester, was operating an unlicensed late-night nightclub.
Between 2019 and 2023, Gayles Johnson allegedly failed to pay state and local taxes on liquor sales and admission fees.
The investigation also found that the managers were suspected of under-reporting business income.
According to the lawsuit: [Gayles-Johnson] We owe the State of Minnesota an estimated $7,967.68 in sales and use taxes, penalties and interest on $32,340.27 in income taxes, penalties and interest for those years.
The owners are charged with four counts of filing false or fraudulent tax returns and five counts of failing to pay or collect taxes. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.
