Hidden in the heart of reading, Roseate Reading This is an incredibly beautiful boutique hotel set in a Grade II list building that was once the town’s Shire Hall. Known for its luxurious decorations, grand spiral staircases, a seamless blend of modern luxury and classical architecture, this hotel is nothing more than a short walk from the historic monastery ruins and the vibrant town centre.

welcome
I arrived to read by train and walked a little further from the station where I was welcomed at reception to the hotel. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and within minutes I was in the room upstairs.

room
I stayed in room 27. This is a House Premium Suite located within Roseate Building, famous for its traditional design and accommodation of receptions and restaurants.

This suite exudes an air of classic refinement with a king-sized bed decorated with pillows, cushions and luxurious throws, and everything combined to give it an unparalleled comfort. And the beds lived up to the expectations of providing a comfortable and peaceful sleep every night.

The gorgeous sofa at the foot of my bed might have easily lured me into a moment of relaxation if I hadn’t been able to do much.

The suite also featured a separate, dual-purpose dressing table/workspace that hidden thoughtful amenities such as a hair dryer, iron board, and iron, as well as mini fridges such as water and milk, kettle and coffee maker.
Bathroom
As I stepped into the bathroom, I felt like I was entering my own private miniature spa sanctuary. The space boasted a large deep bath for luxurious soaking, complemented by another shower, basin and west.

To complement this experience, there was ttoiletries in the fragrant Blenheim bouquet range from Penharigon.

Everything you need to plan your trip in 2024
facility
Culinary Excellence is a feature of Roseate Reading, typical by the reading room where both breakfast and dinner are served.
My dinner started with a local cauliflower amuse bouche with almonds and caviar.

First of all, Orkney scallops, skillfully combined with slow-cooked pork belly, sweet corn, ink tapioca, granny Smith apple and curry oil emulsions showed off the talent of executive chef Rajesh Maharjan with balanced ingredients.

My hearty main course featured the Cornish Halibut, perfectly roasted and served with a wonderfully sweet puree butternut squash, chickpeas, roasted pepper, toasted almonds, vegetables and caviar sauce.

The dessert was a revelation. Pistachio Brule combines with pistachio ice cream, strawberry consommé, raspberries and impressive pistachio coral to make the perfect meal.

During my stay, I was also able to experience the themed afternoon tea, which was placed for a gathering of tourism industry experts. Celebrating the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, the hotel has unveiled a selection of sandwiches and inspired desserts. The aesthetic standout is the imaginative plum delis, skillfully crafted because it resembles ink pots and quills.

For those looking for rejuvenation, the hotel’s spa facility on the top floor offers a variety of treatments designed to help customers indulge in custom-made treatments tailored to their needs.

place
Strategically placed, Roseate Reading serves as the ideal foundation for exploring the myriad attractions found in reading. Right next to the historic Town Hall is the incredible 70-meter Victorian replica of Bayeux Tapestry.

The already mentioned connection with Jane Austen adds literary appeal, especially during this 250th anniversary. A short walk from the hotel leads to the monastery grounds and if you are lucky enough to access a special tour, you can visit the classrooms at the monastery gateway where Austin once studied.

For visitors to Reading, leisure and wellness, Thames Lido, with Edward’s front of the 1920s, is a space for rebornness, yet immersed in history.

Not only that, the reading location along the Great Westway – the route from London to Bristol – makes it a convenient stop for travelers to explore. EnglandThe most iconic landmark.
Other nice touches
Roseate Reading has created many thoughtful gestures. For example, when I entered my room, I was greeted by a plate decorated with chocolate and macarons, with “Welcome to the Roseate” elegantly decorated with chocolate script.

I repeated Harrods Magazine and Sybarite for indoor reading materials.

It was also pleasantly surprised that at dinner the chef made a personal request to meet me and took the time to do some quick chats from his busy kitchen schedule.
cost
House Premium Suites like I stayed in usually start at £235 per night. Considering comfort and the level of key locations, this represents exceptional value for those seeking luxury treats.
The best bit
Every aspect of Roseate Reading exudes excellence, but the quality of the equipment and equipment in my suite and the cooking experience in the reading room were particularly outstanding.
Final Verdict
Few places balance historical architecture with modern comforts as effortless as Logito’s reading. The intricate attention to detail, from beautifully appointed suites to the artistry of the kitchen, creates a deep, personal stay. The grandeur of the building speaks for itself, but the food rivals many of London’s finest facilities.
