On a recent Disneyland day, we took a spaceship ride to the Alien Pizza Planet and tried pasta with charred broccolini and lemon chicken and cinnamon breadsticks with a cream cheese dipping sauce.
Along with this pasta dish and breadstick dessert, Alien Pizza Planet also offers fusilli dishes, pizza, Impossible Bolognese, and salads.
Pasta with Charred Broccolini and Lemon Chicken – $12.49
Served with charred broccolini, diced grilled chicken, red bell peppers, chef’s choice pasta in a lemon cream sauce and garnished with grated parmesan cheese
Nothing on Alien Pizza Planet (with the possible exception of macaroons) is more than a passing grade. This is very basic fast food pasta.
The least I can say is that it is cooked. Chicken was ok. This is the kind of quality you’d find in any decent takeaway airport salad you’ve ever had.
The broccolini was overcooked and the lemon cream sauce tasted like butter. This dish is pretty much what we expected.
Cinnamon Breadsticks with Cream Cheese Dipping Sauce – $5.49
Warm breadsticks wrapped in butter and cinnamon sugar served with a cream cheese dipping sauce
These are your typical Alien Pizza Planet breadsticks, but with cinnamon sugar and icing. Again, this is nothing special. You have to wonder what went wrong with your day at Disneyland that this ended up being a snack in a park full of good possibilities.
The breadsticks weren’t hot, but they were at least soft. The icing was rich and decadent but not enough for 2 bread sticks. It didn’t stretch very well and almost broke with a knife. I do not recommend these.
