In the upcoming fantasy film Damsel, Brown is ready to challenge the “damsel in distress” trope by letting the protagonist take matters into his own hands and slay a dragon himself.
The Netflix movie Damsel is directed by Oscar-nominated Juan Carlos Fresnadillo for 28 Weeks Later and Intruders.
Dan Mazo, the mastermind behind Wrath of the Titans and various upcoming blockbusters, wrote the screenplay for this film.
Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum of renowned production company Roth Kirschenbaum Films will produce the project on Brown’s PCMA banner. The film’s executive producers are Zack Ross, Mazo, and Chris Castaldi. Orchid Productions Ltd is one of his production companies.
According to reports, the budget for this project is between $60 million and $70 million.

It’s a tense thriller about a princess who, thinking she’s married to a prince, is thrown into a pit and sacrificed to a dragon.
Brown plays Elodie, who is looking forward to her wedding to Prince Harry and feels pressured to be a good and obedient wife by her father, who needs the money the marriage will bring. After marrying her Henry, Elodie finds out that she has been tricked into being a sacrificial offering to a cruel dragon who wants to eat her. Elodie has to fight her way out of the dragon’s lair and she saves herself by finally killing the dragon.
