The most dramatic show on television is also the most dramatic show on television. Paramount Network’s hit Western “Yellowstone” should be on track for a record-breaking finale, but it’s more like an unruly bronco. The popular show hasn’t aired since January 2023 for season 5, but there’s a new theory that suggests producers aren’t ready to hang up their cowboy boots just yet. While we wait to see how it all plays out, let’s keep track of what we know about the Yellowstone revival.
Star Kevin Costner will not be appearing in the second half of season 5 as he has moved on to a new passion project: a Western series. On a brighter note, work on Yellowstone season 5 has resumed and is currently underway, and the studio has also set a release date for the second half of the season. Additionally, a sequel to the series is on the way.
There are still plenty of unresolved issues surrounding the flagship series: the Dutton family’s cattle in Montana are under threat of a deadly disease outbreak, a civil war has broken out in the Dutton household between Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Beth (Kelly Reilly), and John (Costner) is on the brink of impeachment.
Two years after Yellowstone season 5 part 1 premiered, the second half of the season will air on Paramount Network and Paramount+. November 10The year is 2024. Part 2 will be broadcast weekly and will consist of six episodes (including the series finale).

Who made “Yellowstone”?
Actor and director Taylor Sheridan and TV/film producer John Linson are the driving force behind this popular Western series. In addition to Yellowstone, Sheridan has also written for other TV series, including Tulsa King, Bass Reeves, Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, 1923, Hell or High Water, and Borders. Some of the notable films and TV shows that Linson has produced include Great Expectations (1998), Lords of Dogtown, The Runaways, The Comedian, 1883, 1923, and more.
Kevin Costner, Art Linson, Bob Yari, Stephen Kaye, David C. Glasser and Linson are all executive producers on Yellowstone, which also stars Sheridan and Linson. The series features music by Breton Vivian and Brian Tyler and cinematography by Emmy Award-winning director Ben Richardson, whose work on Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Fault in Our Stars and The Mare of Easttown are among the shows that feature her.
What will happen in “Yellowstone” Season 5 Part 2?
The Dutton family feud must be resolved. The two main characters, Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie (Wes Bentley), are actively trying to bring each other down. Jamie, the Attorney General of Montana, has called for an impeachment vote against her father, the Governor, for alleged abuse of power. Beth warns him that he will be ruined if he reveals that he murdered his own father. If either brother speaks up, it will lead to mutually assured destruction, because Jamie knows that John murdered many people, and she also knows where their bodies are buried – the so-called “station” on the Wyoming border.
Both believe the only way to stop the conflict is to kill each other, so John gives Beth permission to assassinate Jamie, and Jamie arranges for a hitman to kill Beth. Soon the showdown will come.
Lip, Beth’s husband (Cole Hauser), and several other ranch workers are moving the cattle from the Dutton Ranch to 6666 Ranch in Texas to protect them from infectious diseases. Could this be the setting for a spinoff? With Matthew McConaughey in the cast, there’s a good chance the show will be set in Texas. Let’s stay tuned!
