Louisiana-based chicken finger chain Raising Cane’s has made its mark in downtown Chicago.
The company plans to open a 5,000-square-foot flagship restaurant in the historic Montgomery Building on North Michigan Avenue near Madison Street. Cloud, known as ‘The Bean’, has a prominent sculpture on his gate, and decorations that pay homage to the building’s history are sprinkled throughout the restaurant.
Doors officially open at 10am on Tuesday for the grand opening celebration.
I would advise anyone thinking of going to leave early in the bright light. Several festivities are planned, including a giveaway where her 20 lucky customers over the age of 13 will receive free meals from Raising Cane’s for her entire year. According to the news release, entries will be collected between 8:30am and 9:00am, and the winners (who must be present to select) will be drawn at 9:00am.
Customers can take pictures with a statue of Kane, the brand’s furry mascot, and hear songs by Chicago Bulls DJ DJ One Change.
The store will be the flagship store of the chain’s second store. He will open first in 2022 along the Las Vegas Strip. Two more stores are slated to open later this year in South Beach, near Miami, and Times Square, New York City.
Raising Cane’s has about a dozen locations in the Chicago area.
