Seven proposals were voted on at Disney’s shareholder meeting today. All four of his proposals from The Walt Disney Company were approved, but three of his proposals put forward by shareholders were not.
The company’s proposals included the appointment of 11 directors, the approval of independent accountants, an advisory resolution on executive compensation, and a recommended resolution on the frequency of voting on executive compensation.
The first shareholder proposal called for reporting on China-related businesses. Shareholders speaking at meeting accuse Iger of escalating situation in Florida, citing movies censored for China, ‘mature adult themes’ American parents don’t want their children exposed to bottom.
Another shareholder referred to “gay sex” and abortion in his speech, saying Disney’s condemnation of the Parental Rights in Education Bill and its support for abortion rights was “ridiculous.” The proposal called for disclosure of charitable contributions.
Third Shareholder Proposal Calls for Political Spending Report, Disney Donations to Politicians Supporting Parental Rights in Education Bill (aka “Don’t Say Gay” Bill), and Abortion Prevention and Climate Change have taken countermeasures.
The Board recommended voting against all three shareholder proposals.
