John Cena, Idris Elba and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are cooking in their new action comedy, “The Chief of the Nation.”
Mona Kosar Abdi from “Extra” talked with the three of them about the film. This reunited John and Idris after 2021’s “The Suicide Squad.”
Idris called “a dream come true” to work with John again, saying, “We’ll make this energy work together again. We had to do it on a great project with a great team.”
John added, “When you work with people who have fun, that’s a bonus.”
Priyanka talked about all the action she has to do to protect her characters, senior MI6 agents John and Idris.
She boasted.
She continued. “It’s really funny to protect these two in the film… We’re talking to this walk. It’s hysterical, so it’s a lot of fun.”
Priyanka also enjoyed watching John and Idris “throwed” in one set of the Air Force, made for the film. She detailed: “Everything went to 180. It was huge. These guys are crashing so when they’re falling… they’re actually falling. That was amazing. It was a very cool set.”
Idris said, “The first 50 times were fun, and…”
“It was fun for me!” Priyanka declared. “It was so much fun for me.”
Priyanka also cooked about recreating the Spanish La Tomatina Festival with VFX and CGI for the film.
She remembered. “I was really scared of it. It was like a rotten tomato and the six-day shoot wasn’t my pleasure, but this was all special effects.
John joked. “My takeout seems like I spent my entire budget on tomato special effects,” he joked.
John said he and Idris really had to ride the truck with the sheep.
The “National Chief” was featured on Prime Video on July 2nd.
