Playtech has launched an investigation into live casino game developer OnAir Entertainment over possible intellectual property infringement.
A former employee of OnAir Entertainment, Ivans Ivanovs, made several allegations against the developer in an article. LinkedIn Post. Ivanovs said On Air maintained illegal access to the Playtech system for two years.
In the post, Ivanovs named Igor Veliks as the main person responsible for the alleged illegal access. He said Verix maintained access for more than two years after he ended his employment with Playtech-owned Euro Live Technologies. Veliks currently works at OnAir as the leader of his gaming portfolio.
Ivanovs said the committee, which includes Velix, On Air CEO Andres Rengifo, head of product Armands Zaritis and head of design Andrejs Kilma, all have access to Playtech’s systems. He said he could.
Mr. Ivanovs worked at OnAir from June 2021 to July 2023, first as a Product Owner and later as a Senior Product Owner. Veliks joined the business in August 2021 after leaving his job at Euro Live Technologies.
“Access has been and is being used to spy on upcoming Playtech games and features,” Ivanovs said. “A normal and legitimate practice to keep an eye on our competitors is to examine public domain material, games launched live and displayed at trade shows.
“Unusual illegal activity is continuous access to a competitor’s restricted internal environment, which can result in 1 to 6 months of knowledge about games, features, styles, and technology This also gives us a complete picture of the premium casino operator with its roadmap, market, dedicated studios and branded games.”
OnAir claims it had access to private Playtech files
Ivanovs went on to say that Verix showed him images of Playtech games that are not in the public domain. The two also reportedly talked about information regarding the private gaming feature currently coming to new Playtech games.
“There are additional witness accounts of Veliks introducing Playtech products to other OnAir employees through internal systems,” Ivanovs said. “Further evidence is available in OnAir’s internal systems.
“As the leader of the games portfolio, Igors has participated in the oversight of all on-air game titles beyond classic blackjack and roulette. There are bound to be questions about the integrity of the upcoming game and its copyright by OnAir Entertainment.
“OnAir’s upcoming release, Diamond Rush Roulette, was overseen by Veliks. He also brought Mega Fire Blaze Roulette to Playtech.”
