“The Holdovers” star Paul Giamatti won the Best Actor award at the 2024 National Board of Review Awards ceremony in New York on Thursday.
Extra’s Mona Kosar Abdi spoke with Paul, who just a few days ago won a Golden Globe.
A photo of Paul crashing into an In-N-Out Burger in a tuxedo was posted online and went viral.
He joked that since there’s no In-N-Outs in New York City, he’ll have to find somewhere else to celebrate his National Board of Review honor.
“What can we get?” he asked Mona. “We’ve got a Shake Shack here, we’ve got a Five-Girlfriend’s here, we’ve got a lot of burger joints…we’ve got a lot of bodegas here. What, are you going to make a delicious Chopped Cheese sandwich and go eat it?”
In “The Holdovers,” Giamatti plays a teacher. Do you have a favorite? He answered: “I had an English teacher in seventh grade called Mrs. Bishop who was really kind and really encouraging. She was the best teacher I ever had.”
He also reacted to co-star Davine Joy Randolph winning a Golden Globe for her performance, saying, “It’s about time. She’s amazing and I’m really happy to see her.” declared.
