Days after being separated during the wildfires raging in Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades’ Casey Colvin is reunited with his rescue dog Oreo!
Extra’s Melvin Roberts spoke to Casey, who opened up about what happened.
“The firefighters showed up at the command post with only one of our dogs in the fire truck,” he said.
Colvin was not home when the fire broke out, but was attempting to return to his home to retrieve his dog.
“I saw a pillar of fire that was higher than the parking lot, and the gas line exploded, so the pillar of fire came out of the ground,” Colvin continued. “When I saw so many first responders, I panicked. The fire was coming and I had to evacuate. I thought my dog had about a 20% chance of survival. ”
Luckily for Colvin, Oreo manages to escape from the house, but the house eventually burns down.
Oreo was later discovered in the neighborhood by one of Colvin’s friends.
Casey called her reunion with Oreo “the best day of my life,” adding, “I put a gold heart around his neck that said ‘Oreo.'” I wrote my phone number there and promised that I would be his lover for the rest of my days. ”
