Wednesday morning there was a major traffic backup for drivers on Parkway East. Multiple vehicle collisions within the Squirrel Hill Tunnel have completely blocked the down lane between Exits 74 and 77. The up line was also closed for about an hour on Wednesday. At the entrance tunnel, the uphill driver was also turned away. By 9:00 am, the up line had resumed. It is unknown how long the outbound lanes will be closed, and there is no word on the injuries or the cause of the accident.
