Ann Altman, the sister of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, filed a lawsuit Monday alleging that her brother regularly sexually abused her between 1997 and 2006.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, alleges the abuse took place at the family’s home in Clayton, Missouri, and began when Anne, also known as Annie, was 3 years old and Sam was 12. are. Musk resigned from the company’s board in 2018 and has publicly criticized OpenAI for allegedly abandoning its original mission.
Musk is suing to prevent OpenAI from becoming a commercial company. In June, Musk withdrew the original charges filed in San Francisco state court, then refiled them in federal court.
OpenAI fired back at Musk last month, claiming in a blog post that Musk “not only wanted a for-profit organization, but actually created it” as part of the company’s proposed new structure in 2017.
