detail: Easter Sunrise Worship at Carillon Historical Park has been a faith-based Dayton tradition since 1942. On April 5, 1942, an estimated crowd of 10,000 gathered at an early morning rally in Dies Carillon. The founders of the Carillon Historical Park, Edward A. and Edith Walton Deeds, were among the crowds. The 82nd Annual Easter Sunrise Service is held in partnership with Greater Dayton Christian Connections. It is recommended to bring blankets and chairs.
