The highly anticipated 2024 ticket, a controversial dog story, and a sense of ‘threat’ from Nikki Haley – Gov. Kristi Noem’s (R.S.D.) latest book is a behind-the-scenes look at D.C. politics Unpacking her role and experience in leadership.
Noem’s book, “No Going Back,” details the life lessons she has learned through her family farm, her service in Congress, and her current role as governor. And even though she hasn’t hit shelves yet, the conservative book is already stirring up news cycles.
The governor told Fox News Digital ahead of Tuesday’s release that he remains a firm supporter of former President Donald Trump, describing him in the book as a “bull in a china shop.” .
President Trump recently confirmed the Republican governor was on his short list for vice president, but when asked about the coveted post, Noem said the former president “is someone who can help me win.” I want you to choose someone.”

“He knows that I will do everything I can to help him win. But it’s clear that every day our way of life is under attack. And he knows that I will do everything I can to help him win.” Unless we do that, we’re going to find ourselves in a very tough situation.” Tough times ahead,” Noem told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview ahead of the book’s release.
Ahead of the book’s release, excerpts were published that caused particularly serious controversy. It’s a story about Noem putting down her hunting dogs.

The story went as follows. Noem had a young dog named Cricket, who she described as “difficult to train” and “aggressive.” One day, the dog jumped out of her car and killed some of the neighbor’s chickens, almost biting her when Nomu tried to control it. So Noem decided to get rid of the dog along with the “evil goat” on the farm.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle criticized the governor on social media over the article, and a bipartisan group even launched the Congressional Dog Lovers Caucus days after the excerpt was published. The governor defended his inclusion of the story in his book, telling Fox, “This was a difficult decision and a vulnerable story.”
Asked about the backlash from the report, Noem said, “I’m not surprised that the people who have always attacked me are attacking me. The Republicans and Democrats who attacked me during the coronavirus pandemic are attacking me now. “It’s the same as if you were doing it,” he said. “But I think the public will read this story and realize that I prioritized the safety of people over animals that would kill livestock or attack people.”

Noem also recalled a phone call with former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, saying she felt “intimidated” by the former presidential candidate.
“That’s the thing about Nikki Haley. You never know who she’ll be tomorrow,” Noem wrote. “She’s going to do what the polls and donors say, and that would be very scary for the American people. Those who know her best, including her colleagues in her home state, have similar concerns. It seems like it is.”
After Haley’s team told Politico that the story was a “twist” in the conversation, Noem told Fox News Digital that she was “not surprised” by the reaction.
“I think Nikki said whatever was good for Nikki that day,” Noem told Fox. “I’ve been watching this for years. You never know who she’s going to be tomorrow. She tends to be motivated by what works, what the polls show. And we… We don’t need politicians like that to lead our country.”
Reflecting on the Republican Party’s defeat in the 2022 midterm elections, Noem wrote, “The fact that our party failed to achieve a majority in the United States Senate was a failure on the part of the Republican National Committee.” Noem added: “Donald Trump and a few brave people broke politics. But what do we do now? Instead of going back to the ‘good old days’ and ‘fix’ politics, we’re going to keep adding to the chaos.” Let’s step forward and move the country forward. Truly great days await. ”
Noem’s book will be officially released on Tuesday, May 7th.
