Nicole Kidman was surprised at Vintage Fendi for the SXSW premiere of “The Netherlands.”
“Extra” spoke with Kidman, who was participating in SXSW for the first time!
She praised it. “The fans are amazing. I love this festival, you just have fans who love movies… They’re here, they’re enthusiastic, they love being here, and it’s so great that this festival exists.”
Regarding what attracted Nicole to her character, she said, “It was kind of a thing from my wheelhouse and Mimi Cave had such a strong vision for the film.”
“It was a thriller, but mixed with dark comedy,” Kidman said. She said she called the tone “unusual and strange.”
Nicole was also the producer of the project, explaining how important it is to elevate others, especially women, in the arts.
She said, “That’s what I do. It’s like other people are making their sparkles, they’re part of the ensemble, they’re just moving, moving forward with excitement and enthusiasm, and it’s now possible for these female directors to step into the spotlight.”
“The Netherlands” will hit Prime Video on March 27th.
