Nicki Minaj filmed her shocking arrest in Amsterdam on Saturday, where she was arrested and charged with “soft drug smuggling.”
Thursday The rapper was reportedly detained at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on suspicion of “possession of soft drugs.”
Police said Minaj, whose name has not been released, was fined and released.
“Following consultation with the prosecutor’s office, the suspect has been fined and will be able to continue his journey,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Nicki was previously filmed having a tense exchange with Dutch officials, with Minaj declaring, “I’m not going there. I need a lawyer present,” after being accused of “drug possession.”
The 41-year-old woman appeared confused as to why she was being detained and eventually placed in a police vehicle. She strongly denied any wrongdoing.
The arrest led to the cancellation of the Manchester show of her Pink Friday 2 world tour. Live Nation said in a statement: “Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore all options to make tonight’s performance possible, today’s events have made this impossible. We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused.”
Minaj claimed on social media that the arrests were part of a plot to sabotage the tour: “They are trying to stop me from coming to all the shows,” she wrote. This is what it looks like when people who are paid big bucks to sabotage a tour after everything else has failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.”
