Nick Diaz’s latest fight at UFC 266 in 2021 was the last we saw him fight.For 17 years, fans have watched this fan favorite take on former champion Robbie Lawler. I wanted to see you do it. However, Diaz was unable to come back after being knocked down in the first minute of the third round of the middleweight fight and he lost the fight.
Since then, speculation has centered on a possible comeback for the now 39-year-old Diaz. That didn’t happen. Diaz’s teammate, Jake Shields, said in an interview in January that Diaz used to go to the gym every day, adding credence to discussions about a possible comeback.

Inside Fighting had a chance to catch up with Nick at the UFC 285 gala. The former Strikeforce champion provided a brief update on his future professional goals.
“I’m asking you to fight ASAP, but not (against) Jon Jones.”
Israel Adesanya and current champion Alex Pereira were then suggested to be in the picture, and Diaz enthusiastically endorsed.
“It’s like that. It’s good. I always want to put up my best fight.”
After testing positive for cannabis after his fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 183, Diaz has been suspended indefinitely since 2015 and was scheduled for a rematch with Lawler. was a decision win for “Spider”, but was changed to no contest after Silva tested positive for drugs.
