Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette are sharing the screen again in Clint Eastwood’s new courtroom drama, Juror #2.
Extra’s Terry Seymour spoke to Nicholas and Toni, who reunited for the first time since 2002’s About a Boy.
In the film, Nicholas’ character is put on trial for his own wrongdoings, and Toni plays the role of the prosecutor.
She said: “Having the opportunity to work with him now as an adult was really special for me and just seeing his work and his evolution as an actor. I was really moved. I felt very proud and thought, “What an opportunity.” It’s rare to work with someone again. ”
Nicholas shared his two cents and said: ”
He said, “I feel like we’ve had a deep connection and bond over the years, but now that we’re older and we get to work together, I appreciate the light she brings to the world.” I’m also grateful for the joy.” Because she’s such a great person to be around. ”
In addition to gushing about each other, they also had great things to say about 94-year-old director Clint Eastwood.
Toni commented: I can’t believe I had the opportunity to know him, work with him, and just be on set with him. He’s a great guy, a great artist, and it’s actually an honor to be directed by him. The atmosphere starts off very easygoing and he simplifies everything to its simplest form…it was just a very special experience. I’m still overwhelmed and can’t believe he invited me to be a part of it. ”
Nicholas added: “First of all, when my agent called me and said, ‘Oh, Clint wants to talk to you,’ I was shocked.” I thought, “This is a mistake.” How does he know who I am? What is going on here? Is this some kind of prank my agent has played on me? ”
“Every movie he’s directed is iconic in every sense of the word and he’s such a big part of the film world that it’s great to be able to spend time with him as a person and see how he is. I was able to learn and see how he was crafting the story.” Holt praised him, saying, “He’s an incredibly special person with a morbid and funny wit.”
As for why she was drawn to this project, Colette confessed: I love Clint so much. Thankfully, this is the most incredible story, but I’ve never played a lawyer before. ”
“Juror #2” will be released on November 1st.
