Many headlines surrounding the news focused on Yaccarino not just being a “female CEO,” but a leadership expert. Dominic FarnanCEO and Chief Conscious Connector of . dot connect LLCsays the news should not focus on gender.
“Why are we still leading in ‘female CEOs’?” asked Farnan. “Apart from gender orientation, what is the difference between a CEO and a female CEO? I find it insulting to lead the role of ‘pretty’ or with remarks that sound lower than they really are.”
Farnan noted that 10% of Fortune 500 companies are led by women.
“For a long time, this number hovered around 8%. By January 1, 2023, Fortune 500 companies will have five new CEOs and 53 female CEOs. increased.”
Farnan advised the impending CEO to focus on “repairing relationships across the organization.”
“Mr. Musk came like a bull to the Chinese store and has rocked the organization since his October acquisition. It would be of great benefit to the culture to have leaders who can repair the damage it may have caused.”
Musk said he plans to remain in his executive role at the company, transitioning to chairman and chief technology officer (CTO), overseeing products, software and management.
