Wendy Williams’ battle for freedom from her guardianship is furious, and at a rally from New York to Los Angeles
She has been guardianship of a court order since 2022 and currently lives in a memory care unit on the fifth floor of a NYC support facility, comparing her presence to the presence of a convicted offender with no internet access and few visitors.
Her son Kevin was accused of mishandling her money. He denied any fraud, but that caused her bank to freeze her account.
She was believed to be an “unhealthy heart,” and was placed in guardianship. Later diagnosed with dementia, she was hidden in a secret facility before moving to the memory care unit.
Currently, the entire controversy is a new documentary, “Trapped: What what for what in ways what in ways in was what in vay 19, with streaming on Max with ID.
The special from the producer of “Extra” gives her a new look in her fight, including interviews with legal and medical experts like acclaimed brain expert Dr. Daniel Amen.
The documentary opens the “Extra’s” vault and airs long-standing exclusive interviews that include the infamous live television fainting spell, providing new details about the end of the marriage.
Famous investigative journalist Diane Dimond will appear in Doc. She is an expert and the author of “We Help Here: When Guardianship Is Not Good.”
She says, “If she has some form of dementia, it’s serious. It’s irresponsible to open the door and say, ‘Go there, go back and live your life again’. ”
Wendy’s lawyers have spoken out, calling her case a “tragedy.”
“Human rights have been stripped of as if convicted of a serious crime. It restores human decency and her dignity, what is right, what is wrong, and we are trying to do it.”
Viewers will also hear from some of Williams’ well-known supporters, including Snoop Dogg, Meggin Kelly and Omarosa.
