Disney Parks Blog recently introduced the new EPCOT Reimagined merchandise collection coming soon to the Creations Shop. Guests will first be able to purchase items released as part of the line directly at the Annual Passholder Shopping Event later this month, but the new EPCOT Reimagined Loungfly Minnie Ear Headband is available now. You can secure it now. Purchase at Shop Disney.
EPCOT Reimagined Loungefly Ear Headband – $34.99
The headband is made of synthetic leather and is padded with a soft light blue material. A lounge fly plate is attached to the right side.
The ears attached to the adult headband feature a quilted design similar to Spaceship Earth, an Epcot icon since the park opened in October 1982. The white ears are shiny and feature an “iridescent sheen,” according to shopDisney. The color appears to change depending on the angle.
According to ShopDisney, the ribbon at the top of the headband features an “enamel cloisonné centerpiece representing Spaceship Earth.” The centerpiece features raised edges and a central design that simulates a point formed by thousands of triangles on the outside of the structure.
Minnie’s ribbon at the top of the headband features a pattern filled with EPCOT icons. EPCOT’s logo is sporadically printed among other images referencing the park. There are icons depicting Figment, the ocean from Nemo and Friends, the park’s World Showcase district, and more. This pattern can be seen on most other items in this line. Other products in the collection include:
- Dooney & Bourke Handle Tote & Crossbody Bags
- EPCOT Reimagined Spirit Jersey
- EPCOT Reimagined Adult T-Shirt
- EPCOT Zip Parka Reimagined
- Spaceship Earth light up figure
- EPCOT Reimagined Mystery Pin Set (Previously Released)
Rethinking EPCOT
The EPCOT Reimagined merchandise collection “celebrates the next generation of immersive storytelling made possible at EPCOT.” According to the Disney Parks Blog. Its next generation has been several years in the making, as the park has undergone significant changes and several new additions since the concept for the sweeping changes was unveiled at D23 Expo 2019.
The park was divided into four districts: World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase. Remy’s Ratatouille, a trackless dark ride that is a clone of the Walt Disney Studios Park attraction, opened in 2021 at World Showcase’s France Pavilion. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened at World Discovery in mid-2022. Inspired by Moana, Journey of Water is the last major part of the “Reimagining EPCOT” walkthrough attraction. District World Celebration, which includes Communicore Hall, Communicore Plaza and Dreamers Point, will officially open this December.
Zach Ridley, the Imagineer who oversaw the re-envisioning of EPCOT, was recently promoted to Global Creative Strategy Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering.
