A new collection of Duel Dragons merchandise is now available at Universal Orlando Resort. It is similar in design to the 2023 Halloween Horror Nights merchandise that was sold to Annual Passholders, as the house and vanished attraction share the same characters and backstory.
Duel Dragons Glass – $12
The glass features art of Pyrock and Blizzlock, with “Choose Thy Fate” on top and “Dueling Dragons” on the bottom. The “O” in “choose” has a vertical line running down the center that looks like a dragon’s eye.
Poster – $15
The same dragon art is also used on the poster, set in front of a creepy castle silhouette. Bones and skulls lie at our feet. Lightning flashes in the sky below the “Choose Your Destiny” banner.
Candle – $26
The same art is also featured on the lids of scented candles. It smells like a mixture of smoke and flower scents.
Like other merchandise, the “Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 2023” and “UOAP” logos have been removed, but the rest of the design remains unchanged.
T-shirt – $30
The banner that previously had the HHN logo now just says “Universal Orlando,” and the sleeve that used to have the annual passholder logo is now blank.
On the back is written in large letters, “Choose your destiny.”
Hoodie – $55
The hoodie features the same art as the T-shirt, but the designs have been swapped. It features ‘Choose Thy Fate’ on the front and dragon artwork on the back above a large kangaroo pocket.
dueling dragons
Dueling Dragons is a roller coaster located in the Merlinwood area of the Lost Continent in Islands of Adventure. It features two duel tracks, the red one being the fire dragon Pyrok and the blue one being the ice dragon Blizzlock. Pylock and Blizzlock were warlocks who were cursed to take on the form of a dragon when they tried to steal Merlin’s spellbook. Guests could choose which side to root for by standing in either the blue or red line.
When Hogsmeade’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter took over the land, it became the Dragon Challenge, but there were two separate incidents where riders were injured by objects falling from riders on the opposite course. The duel was finally canceled in 2011. Eventually, it was permanently closed in 2017 and demolished to make way for the road. Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Bike Adventureopened in 2019.
The attraction’s backstory was revived and the queue was recreated primarily for Halloween Horror Nights 32’s haunted house called “Duel Dragons: Choose Your Fate.”
