Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there were “gaps” between the ceasefire agreement Israel proposed and the one President Biden outlined on Friday.
Netanyahu said Monday that Biden’s description of the deal was “incomplete,” suggesting it was not as extensive as Biden had suggested.
“The proposal put forward by Biden is incomplete,” Netanyahu said. “The war will stop in order to return the hostages, and then there will be talks. There are other details that the US president did not show the people.”
According to Israeli media, Netanyahu also said Israel could stop the war for up to six weeks, but not longer.

Two Israeli ministers have warned that they will pull out of Netanyahu’s coalition government if he accepts Biden’s proposed deal. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, a right-wing member of Netanyahu’s government, made the warning on Monday morning.
In a White House speech on Friday, President Biden outlined a “road map for a lasting ceasefire and the release of all hostages,” which he said was the result of intensive diplomatic negotiations conducted by a U.S. team with leaders of Israel, Qatar, Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries.

Biden said in his speech that the plan has three phases. The first phase, which will take six weeks, will include a complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from populated areas of the Gaza Strip, and the release of many of the hostages. In return, Israel will release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and allow Gaza civilians throughout the Gaza Strip to return to their homes and neighborhoods, Biden said.
