Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore go head-to-head in the headline-grabbing drama May December. They discussed the film, which was inspired by the Mary Kay LeTourneau case, with Extra’s Melvin Robert and reacted to the Oscar buzz.
Moore plays Gracie, the woman at the center of a scandalous romance, while Portman plays Elizabeth, an actress who researches Gracie’s family before bringing the tabloid hit to the big screen.
The story was inspired by the media frenzy caused by the famous case in the 90s surrounding the relationship between Letourneau, an elementary school teacher who died in 2020, and Vili Fualaau, a sixth grade student whom she eventually married. It’s something.
