Morrissey canceled two concerts after “receiving medical supervision due to physical exhaustion.”
The 64-year-old musician was scheduled to perform at the Honda Center in Anaheim and the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles over the weekend, but canceled both concerts due to medical reasons.
Tour manager Donnie Knutson posted on his Instagram page: “Morrissey is under medical supervision due to physical fatigue. He has been ordered to rest for two weeks and will remain in Zurich.”
On the advice of doctors, Morrissey’s upcoming tour of South America has been canceled, along with a scheduled show in Southern California.
Meanwhile, Morrissey revealed in October that he was embroiled in a dispute with Capitol Records over the release of his next album, Bonfire of Teenagers.
Morrissey explained that since the label had not released the album, he would return the album “for a certain price.”
He told Good Day New York: “This album was recorded in January 2021 and Capitol did not sign it and release it, but now they are willing to pay a certain price and return it to me,” he said.
“It was very traumatic and very sad, because when you record something, you want it to be available right away, and that happened very often. For me, it was It was very personal and the fact that it wasn’t made public was torture.”
Scheduled for release in February 2023, the album featured production from Elton John, Ozzy Osbourne and Andrew Watt, as well as Miley Cyrus, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith and Flea, Iggy. It reportedly features pop collaborations.
