Bonnie Peacock has extensive experience dealing with money and the responsibilities that come with it. That is why she decided last December to leave her corporate world and start her own business, providing personal financial services as a daily money custodian for her individuals and families. It seemed just right when I chose to. Her focus is on the elderly and disabled who are finding it increasingly difficult to handle financial issues.
“I was at a crossroads in my career and decided to go independent as an entrepreneur rather than seek a higher position in the banking industry,” she said.
Peacock aptly named her new business Money Mates.
Like other individuals and businesses that are members of the American Association of Daily Money Managers, Peacock offers bill payment, checking account reconciliation, bank deposit preparation and making, tax filings and more. She negotiates with creditors, organizes financial documents and systems, and refers her to legal, tax and investment professionals and community resources as needed.
She has been background-checked by the AADMM and follows a strict code of ethics. She is one of 42 daily money managers in the association’s Florida, and nationwide she has 560, the only manager in southern Hillsborough County.
Peacock also offers a mobile notarization service for all types of documents for a $10 stamp fee and can be moved anywhere in Apollo Beach, Ruskin, Sun City Center or Wimauma at no extra charge. Call 813-509-1750.
After assessing a client’s needs and providing a free initial consultation to determine if she’s the right person for her, Peacock basically has what it takes to work with a client, family member, or caregiver. She charges an hourly rate and offers customizable plans.
“I want to help the elderly and people with disabilities in my community. I want to provide them and their families with peace of mind by providing professional services they can trust. said Peacock. “I see myself as part of the client care team and someone who provides a way for clients to maintain their freedom.”
The South Shore resident has been with TD Bank for 12 years and was promoted to a management position in 2017. In December 2021, she was appointed Branch Manager of the new TD Bank branch in Ruskin/Sun City Center.
“In working with our senior community clients, we have seen firsthand how different financial scenarios affect their lives,” Peacock said. “These included victims of fraud and fraud, people who were no longer able to manage their finances effectively, widows or widowers who had never handled their own finances.”
