MLB has rescheduled three games in the wake of Category 4 Hurricane Hillary, which is expected to hit the southwestern United States. All affected games were changed to Sunday-Saturday doubleheaders. Here’s what you should know:
- The Padres and Diamondbacks will host a split doubleheader Saturday at Petco Park starting at 3:10 p.m. ET/12:10 p.m. PT and 8:40 p.m. ET/5:40 p.m. .
- The Angels and Rays will play a split doubleheader Saturday at Angel Stadium at 4:07 PM ET, 1:07 PM PT and 9:07 PM PT, 6:07 PM PT.
- The Dodgers and Marlins will have a split doubleheader Saturday at Dodger Stadium starting at 3:00 PM ET/12:00 PM PT and 9:10 PM PT/6:10 PM PT.
- Tickets purchased for Sunday’s game will be valid for the first game of the split doubleheader on Saturday, according to MLB.
Other events affected
The Los Angeles Chargers are scheduled to face the New Orleans Saints in a preseason match at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. The NFL is watching Hurricane Hillary move up the Pacific coast. The game is still scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
The LA Galaxy vs. Real Salt Lake regular season game has been postponed from Sunday to Oct. 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park due to expected rainstorms in the Los Angeles area. Tickets purchased for both teams’ original matchday on August 20 will remain valid for the rescheduled match.
LAFC also moved Sunday’s game against the Colorado Rapids to Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT at BMO Stadium. Tickets purchased are valid for the August 23rd event.
