Titans coach Mike Vrabel hasn’t decided who will be the starting quarterback for next Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.
Will Revis has started the past two games while Ryan Tannehill deals with an ankle injury, but when asked if he was ready to name the No. 1 quarterback next week, Vrabel said I replied that I had no intention of doing so.
“no, not ready to do it yet” Vrabel said, via SI.com. “I think we’ll be talking about the depth chart over the weekend. When I talk to you on Tuesday, we’ll have the depth chart or something close to it available so we can see not only Ryan’s health but also the variables.” But whatever is going on on the offensive line is what comes out of that game. ”
Vrabel said that’s a hypothesis and wouldn’t answer whether Tannehill would return to the starting job unless he was cleared to return.
“Once Ryan is healthy, I’ll make the decision,” Vrabel said.
Tannehill was struggling this season before his injury, with the Titans going just 2-4 on the season. Levis was great in his first start leading the Titans to a win over the Falcons, but struggled against the Steelers on Thursday night.
The 3-5 Titans will need consistent quarterback play if they want to make the playoffs late in the season, but Vrabel doesn’t know yet who that quarterback play will come from.
