Megan Thee Stallion is hot news. The Houston-based rapper announced the release date for her third studio album during her Atlanta tour on Sunday, June 2. Her next self-titled music project, Megan, is set to be released later this month on June 28.
The official announcement of her third album took place during one of her shows at State Farm Arena, which had been postponed due to a burst water main, and Megan delivered the news in a unique way, displaying a QR code onstage for fans to scan.
Additionally, the album’s cover was projected on screen during her speech, featuring Megan wrapped in a cocoon and hanging upside down.

Eminem criticizes Megan Thee Stallion
The album’s announcement comes just days after Eminem name-dropped the female Houston musician in his new song, “Houdini,” a single in which Slim Shady subtly references the 2020 shooting of Megan and Tory Lanez.
“If I asked Megan Thee Stallion to collaborate, would I have a chance of really accomplishing something?” Eminem raps in Whodini.
For those who don’t know, rapper Tory Lanez was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison with a sentencing due in 2023, nearly three years after he shot Megan Thee Stallion in the leg. The Savage Remix songstress has yet to publicly respond to Eminem’s accusations.
Megan Thee Stallion’s next album
In an interview with L’OFFICIEL, Megan said of the upcoming project, “It’s a little bit of everything. It’s got every emotion in it.”
The announcement of Megan’s third album, which includes her hit singles “Cobra,” “Boa” and “Hiss,” comes ahead of the release of her Hot Girl Summer Tour this week, with stops in Tampa, Raleigh and elsewhere.
