BOSTON — Green Line commuters are complaining of yet another problem at T-junctions after a trolley derailed at Packards Corner in Allston on Monday.
Maggie Onder, a Green Line commuter, said, “The city itself needs to do more to encourage investment in infrastructure and to prevent things like this from happening beyond the T line. there is,” he said.
All 30 passengers on the train got off safely, but it took about four hours for the train to get back on track, MBTA said.

MBTA general manager Philip Ng said the tracks appeared to be the culprit after the center wheel detached from the tracks.
Now workers are working through the night to repair the tracks at this busy intersection between Commonwealth and Brighton Avenues.
“Initially, the distance between the rails was not where it should be, so we are evaluating how that happened,” said Eng.
At night, however, a shuttle bus will replace the Green Line from Kenmore to Washington Street. MBTA is working to get the Green Line back into service by Tuesday morning.
“When something like this happens on the Green Line, or something similar, the shuttle becomes a bit unreliable, everyone is late, people are late for work, and this is a real problem,” Onder said. Stated.

Ng said he has heard these complaints and will try to fix the green line extension as soon as possible.
“The team needs to come together correctly. There are many competing priorities in terms of what needs to be addressed. This is one of the challenges we are trying to accelerate,” said Eng.
Eng said there were already plans to restore this area of the Green Line this summer, but the derailment may bring forward that work.
