Martha Stewart’s life is extraordinary, as revealed in Netflix’s new documentary Martha.
A trailer for the film released this week provides an inside look at how the mogul rose from teenage model to become the first female self-made billionaire in American history.
One of the biggest bombshell revelations? The 83-year-old confessed that she cheated on her ex-husband, Andrew Stewart.
In the documents, Stewart says, “If you’re married and your husband starts cheating, he’s an asshole. Get out of that marriage.”
The interviewer asks, “Did you have an affair early on?”
Martha replies, “Yes, but I don’t think Andy knew that.”
Stewart and her ex-husband were married from 1961 to 1990 and have a daughter, Alexis.
she told People magazine in 2020. “Divorce was terrible for me because we were the first in our family to get divorced. And it’s even tougher that we haven’t spoken since the divorce. But I’m very strong and I’m happy to live life. I am very motivated to go.”
After her marriage ended, Martha launched a billion dollar lifestyle brand.
Despite her success, she was convicted in 2004 on charges related to the stock sale and subsequently spent five months in federal prison.
In the trailer, Stewart goes all out against the prosecutor!
“I was a trophy to these idiots,” she tells viewers. “I was dragged to a lonely place with no food or water. Those prosecutors should have been put in the Cuisinart and exalted.”
