Ann approval Former President Donald Trump’s comments over the weekend helped North Carolina Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson easily win yesterday’s primary by more than 40 percentage points over the front-runner.
Robinson, whom President Trump called “Martin Luther King on steroids” while supporting him, has a social media history littered with bigoted comments about gays, transgender people, women and Jews. There is. He has used many of the same themes in his street speeches, giving a fiery speech against the “satanic” transgender movement and describing homosexuals as “filth”.
All of these comments quickly resurfaced after Robinson’s victory, sparking the expected and understandable liberal outrage, but there was a completely different reaction to Robinson in online conservative circles.
Greg Price, a communications staffer for the state Freedom Caucus, posted “Let’s Go Go” on Robinson’s video criticizing transgender people.
“It’s not just two genders,” Robinson declared in the video, surrounded by ecstatic clergy in front of a podium emblazoned with the words “Jesus is Lord.”
“You can go to the doctor and get your injury done, you can go to a dress shop and get makeup done, you can go there and get medicine put on you. But at the end of the day, you’re just You’re just drugged. Dress up, put on make-up, cut up men and women,” Robinson shouted in a preacher’s rhythm.
“Two plus two doesn’t make you transgender,” Robinson added, wiping the sweat from his head with a cloth. “That’s equal to four.”
“Love him!! The world desperately needs him right now,” @Audra__McDougal posted.
“God bless him,” Added @jagrubb1977. “I love him and his message.”
Those hearing about Robinson for the first time were excited to learn about him, but those who had been following him for a while were also excited to see him burst onto the national stage. I was excited.
“Love him absolutely!” Posted @skylar_04 In another thread. “I heard him speak at CPAC a few years ago. I got chills. The place totally lit up!”
Conservative enthusiasm for Robinson was such that many posters featured him as a possible successor to Donald Trump.
“Mark Robinson – the next Governor of North Carolina and, dare I say it, the next President of the United States after Mr. Trump,” @media_laina posted. “This is the kind of person America needs after Trump.”
“The next Governor of North Carolina and the next President after Trump!” echoed @parzonenc65.
“I want to see this person as president!!” Posted @natot1125.
“He will be our nation’s first black president!” Added @AROtotheN.
Race was not a consideration for Robinson’s supporters either.
“As a white person, I hope Mark Robinson stays healthy. I would vote for him as president in a heartbeat.” Posted @Gillen96
“Me too! ❤️❤️✝️👍👍” answered @TexFontaholic.
