Maria Georgas is trying to set the record straight after her name was mentioned on Bachelorette Jhen Tran and ex-boyfriend Devin Strader’s “After the Final Rose” special, which aired on September 3rd.
By the time the finale aired, the couple had already called off their engagement, and Jen had confronted Devin about Maria following him on Instagram. Both Georgas and Tran competed on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor.
Jen told Devin, “What I don’t understand is everything you did after I broke off our engagement,” asking why he chose to pursue Maria after they broke up, to which Strader simply replied, “I cheated on you. There’s nothing else to say, but everything I felt for you was real.”

“Last night was hard to watch. I feel sorry for Jen,” Maria said, adding, “I can’t speak to her relationship status. Only she and Devin can speak to her relationship status.”
Shutting down any gossip, she continued, “I stood up for my character. I know who I am and my friends and family know who I am. The fact that you all saw me through a screen and still saw how real I am leaves me speechless.”
Georgius continued, “I understand Jen needs to speak up. Speak your mind, she. I respect that. But I think without the full context, people are going to believe a completely different story.”
Maria admitted, “Yeah, Devin followed me on Instagram, but I don’t care who follows me on Instagram and who doesn’t… and by the time I found out, he had unfollowed me.”
She continued, “Just to be clear, I have never met Devin.”
During the “After the Final Rose” special, instead of mourning the broken engagement, Jen asked Devin about “clubbing” with Jeremy Simon.

Now, Maria has set the record straight, saying she never met Devin at the club.
“I’ve never been to a club. [Devin]Maria explained, “He did what he wanted. Did I go out with Jeremy? Did I go on nights out with friends? All of us together? Yeah, I did.”
Georgas said that since he’s not going on “Bachelor in Paradise,” he goes out and “meets people through his friends,” and thinks that’s “very normal.”
Speaking about the online furore, Maria added: “I can’t control who follows who, but what I can control is what I do about it. What I do is not follow back. I never have. As a result of what happened, I will no longer follow that guy… I had nothing to do with the end of that relationship.”
“My personality, my innocence, my peace are important to me, and I won’t ruin it for anyone,” she insisted.
Maria said of Jen: ” [Jenn and I] Just because we broke up and are not friends anymore doesn’t mean we hate each other. If someone tries to disrespect her in front of me, I’m not going to sit here and put up with it, because I won’t.”
She finally said, “I’m just a regular person on a reality TV show. Stop holding me to standards that don’t exist.”
On Wednesday, with the finale still in the air, “Extra” spoke with Jen about meeting Devin face-to-face in the “After the Finale Rose” special.
Tran said she wasn’t shocked by what happened: “He showed up exactly how I thought he would, which was the version of himself he’s been showing for the last month…I knew it was going to be a hard night for me to ultimately take it all in with the world.”
“The Bachelorette” is currently streaming on Hulu.
