On Thursday, Mandy Moore hit the red carpet for the season 2 premiere of Dr. Martin. “Death” is based on the true story of transplant surgeon Dr. Paolo Macchiarini, who was sentenced to prison for failing a stem cell treatment.
On “Extra,” Mandy spoke with the show about her vacation plans and her “This Is Us” co-star Milo Ventimiglia’s recent wedding.
Earlier this year, Milo secretly married model Jara Mariano. Mandy commented, “I didn’t have a chance to catch up with Milo, but if Milo is happy, I’m very happy too.”
Moore and her two young sons are preparing for the holidays with family traditions. She said: “We’re going to stay home and feel comfortable…We just moved, so I think it’s all about figuring out what the new traditions are.”
Mandy said her eldest son is “really conscious now” about vacations. She continued, “I’m excited to be a part of that holiday tradition.”
Moore also incorporates childhood holiday traditions into her children, such as eating breakfast food for dinner on Christmas Eve. “It may sound silly, but that was the thing I looked forward to most about the holidays…Now I get to do that as a mom,” she said.
Mandy filmed the second season of “Dr. Martin.” She died after giving birth to his second son. She said: “I was nursing and working with him… It was a tough time, but we managed to make it happen.”
In the show, Mandy plays an investigative journalist who asserts her moral values and begins a relationship with Dr. Macchiarini, played by Edgar Ramirez.
Regarding working with Ramirez, Moore said, “It’s really easy to pretend to be in love with Edgar…I think we approach the job in the same way.” It was easy to do that because we have the same respect for them.”
“Dr. Death” will premiere on Peacock on December 21st.
